SCRANTON, Pa. – Sophomore forward Sammy Tornabene of The University of Scranton men's basketball team has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second straight week following a pair of standout performances at the York Spartan Classic.

Tornabene led the Royals to victories over Ursinus College and Nazareth University, averaging 22.5 points and 9.0 rebounds on the week. He opened the tournament with 15 points and five rebounds in an 89–77 win over Ursinus before delivering a dominant all-around effort against Nazareth.

In the win over Nazareth, Tornabene poured in 30 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, controlling the game offensively and on the glass while converting key free throws down the stretch to secure a 73–63 victory.

His performances helped Scranton improve to 9–1 on the season and earned him Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week recognition for the second consecutive week.
