SCRANTON, PA – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team defeated Susquehanna University, 18-7, on Wednesday evening at Weiss Field in Scranton.

How it Happened
- Graduate student Erin Reich opened the scoring at the 13:46 mark of the first quarter, burying an on-the-run shot to make it 1-0 Scranton.
- Just 1:30 later, senior Grace Lane added to the lead with a free-position goal, and she scored her second of the game 35 seconds later to extend the lead to 3-0.
- Susquehanna answered with its first goal of the contest at the 9:25 mark, reducing Scranton's lead down to 3-1.
- Wasting no time in the second quarter, freshman Grace DiDominica found a cutting Jillian Lopez and the sophomore found the back of the net to give the Royals a three-goal advantage just 26 seconds into the period.
- Three minutes later, it was Grace DiDominica who took a feed from sophomore Eileen Hewitt and scored a goal in player-up scenario to make it 5-1 Scranton.
- Reich scored her second goal of the game at the 7:13 mark and then 43 seconds later, she found Lane who scored to give Scranton a 7-1 lead with her third goal of the night.
- With 5:25 left in the second quarter, the River Hawks scored their second goal of the game on a free-position attempt.
- Scranton scored three goals in a matter of 1:30 seconds to take a 10-2 lead. First, it was graduate student Devyn Tanajewski, next senior Molly McCarren and then it was Lane who scored for the fourth time, collecting her 200th career goal.
- Susquehanna capped off the first half with a pair of goals in the final two minutes to cut Scranton's lead to six.
- The Royals began the third quarter on fire, as senior Catherine McGlynn, Lopez and Grace DiDominica each scored once withing the first minute and a half of the period to extend the lead to 13-4.
- Then, 1:16 after that run, Reich connected with McCarren who scored her second goal of the contest to put Scranton ahead by 10.
- With 7:10 left to go in the third quarter, Hewitt intercepted a pass and took it to the goal and scored her first goal of the contest. Three minutes later, McGlynn scored again to extend Scranton's advantage to 16-4.
- Susquehanna ended the last two minutes of the third quarter just like it did in the second – by scoring a pair of goals.
- Junior Jessica McCabe scored her first goal of the evening at the 14:24 mark in the fourth, and two minutes later, Hewitt scored on a free-position attempt to give the Royals a 12-goal lead at 18-6.
- The River Hawks scored the final goal by either team with 3:27 to go in the fourth quarter as Scranton defeated Susquehanna, 18-7.
Top Performers
- Lane led the team with five points on four goals and one assist. Her fourth goal of the game was the 200th goal of her career as she became the third player in program history to reach the milestone.
- Hewitt and Reich both had two goals and three assists apiece.
- Lopez scored two goals and led the team with three caused turnovers and four draw controls.
