MADISON, N.J. – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team soundly defeated the Drew University Rangers, 16-5, on Wednesday evening in Madison, N.J.

How it Happened
- Drew got on the board first with a free position goal less than one minute into the game to take a 1-0 lead.
- Graduate student Devyn Tanajewski evened the score for the Royals with a free position goal of her own with 8:15 to go in the first quarter.
- Three minutes and eighteen seconds later, senior Grace Lane drove to the net and scored to put the Royals ahead 2-1.
- Lane scored her second of the game at the 3:35 mark in the first quarter to extend the lead to 3-1.
- Scranton scored its first goal of the second quarter 4:56 seconds into the period as graduate student Brooke Lynch connected with Grace DiDominica in transition and the freshman buried the shot to give Scranton a 4-1 advantage. The assist marked the first point for Lynch in her career.
- Sophomore Becca Paterson scored a free-position goal with 4:58 left in the first half. Less than two minutes later, graduate student Erin Reich found space and let a side-arm shot rip into the top of the net, making it 6-1 Scranton.
- With 1:10 left to go in the quarter, sophomore Jillian Lopez connected with senior Molly McCarren who scored on a free position set play to extend the lead to six goals.
- Scranton scored another goal in transition as Lynch passed to Lane who bounced the shot into the net for her third goal of the day.
- After Lopez won the draw following the goal, Lane took it and scored her fourth of the game to make it 9-1 Scranton.
- The Royals added their 10th goal of the game at the 11:11 mark as Tanajewski ripped a shot into the bottom right of the goal for her second goal of the afternoon.
- Lane scored her fifth goal of the game on a free position attempt at the 7:56 mark of the third quarter. Less than two minutes later, Tanajewski found Lopez who scored to make it 12-1 Scranton.
- With 3:50 left in the third quarter, Grace DiDominica passed to her sister Shannon DiDominica who scored her first goal of the game to extend the lead to 13-1.
- Drew scored its first goal since the first minute of the game with just over one minute to go in the third period to cut the Royals' lead to 13-2.
- The Rangers added another goal in the first few minutes of the fourth quarter to get within 10 goals, and they scored their fourth goal of the afternoon at the 8:35 mark of the fourth period to make it 13-4.
- Junior Jessica McCabe fought her way through the Drew defense and fired a shot into the back of the net to extend the Scranton lead back to 10 goals.
- Drew answered at the 4:32 mark to cut the deficit down to 14-5. Then, just 21 seconds later, Scranton responded as freshman Nora Ryan bounced the shot into the net.
- McCabe scored her second goal of the game on a free position attempt with 1:44 left in the game to extend the lead to 16-5.
