Five student-athletes from The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team earned All-Boardwalk Region honors as announced by the IWLCA on Friday afternoon.
Eileen Hewitt (So.) – First Team Midfielder
- This is the second straight season Hewitt has been named to the All-Boardwalk Region First Team.
- In 20 games played this year, Hewitt tallied career highs with 35 goals, 40 assists, 75 points and 29 caused turnovers, while adding 58 draw controls this season.
- The Downingtown, Pa. native ranks second in the Landmark Conference in ground balls, fourth in assists, fifth in points and eighth in caused turnovers.
- Hewitt recorded 13 multi-goal games this season and scored at least two points in 19 out of 20 games played, including a career-high eight points and six assists with two goals in the First-Round of the NCAA Tournament against MIT.
Grace Lane (Sr.) – First Team Attacker
- This marks the third time in her career and third consecutive season that Lane has earned All-Boardwalk Region First Team honors.
- The Long Beach, N.Y. native led the Royals with 51 goals, while adding 12 assists for 63 points.
- Lane posted 15 multiple-goal games this season, including a pair of five-goal games against Juniata and Drew.
- Earlier this season, Lane surpassed 200 career points, becoming just the third player in program history to reach the milestone. She finished her career as a Royal with 213 goals and 59 assists for 272 career points and ranks third in program history in goals, fourth in points and 10th in assists.
Jillian Lopez (So.) – First Team Attacker
- This is the first time in her career that Lopez has earned All-Region honors.
- Lopez finished her sophomore season ranking fourth in the Landmark with a career-high 50 goals while also recording career-highs with nine assists and 59 points. The sophomore added 106 draw controls this year, which was third-best in the conference and the third most in a single season in program history.
- The Sayville, N.Y. native tallied 15 multiple goal games this season, and she scored a career-high five goals in back-to-back games against No. 11 Ithaca and No. 13 TCNJ earlier this year. Lopez scored at least three goals in three of the team's four postseason games, while also leading the Royals with three goals in the Second Round of the NCAA tournament against No. 2 Tufts University.
Karina Roettger (Gr.) – First Team Defender
- This is the first time in her career that Roettger has earned All-Region honors.
- Roettger finished the season fifth in the Landmark Conference in ground balls with 52 and tied for second in caused turnovers with 32.
- The Brick, N.J. native is an anchor on the Royals' defense that leads the Landmark with 8.41 goals against average and 25.48 ground balls per game and is third with 11.10 caused turnovers per game.
Eva Guerino (Jr.) – Second Team Goalkeeper
- This marks the first All-Region selection of Guerino's career.
- Guerino led the Landmark Conference with 7.67 goals against average and finished second in save percentage at .510.
- The Hopewell, N.J. native tallied at least 10 saves in three games this season, including 12 saves against No. 20 Stevens, 15 saves against No. 12 Rowan and 11 saves in the championship game against Catholic.
