The University of Scranton men's soccer team continues to turn heads both regionally and nationally after an impressive start to the 2025 season.
Following a pair of impressive results this past week — a 1-1 draw against No. 2 Rowan University and a convincing 4-0 win over Kean University — the Royals have moved up to No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Region V rankings and are receiving votes nationally in the latest USC Top 25 poll.
Scranton remains unbeaten at 2-0-2, with a resume that continues to build. Earlier this season, the Royals also picked up a 2-0 road win at then-No. 25 Messiah University and earned a 0-0 draw at SUNY New Paltz.
The Royals' rise to No. 3 in Region V marks a four-spot jump from last week's No. 7 ranking and makes them the second highest-ranked Landmark Conference team in the region behind Catholic University (No. 2).
Senior goalkeeper Charlie Smith currently ranks 15th in the nation in save percentage at .944. As a team, the Royals rank tied for 11th in the country in goals against average at .250.
