Kirchner of Men's Lacrosse Named Preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine

Junior goalkeeper Carsen Kirchner of The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team earned Preseason All-American Honorable Mention recognition, as announced by USA Lacrosse Magazine on Tuesday afternoon.

Kirchner stepped into the starting role for the first time in his career in 2025 and thrived, starting all 21 games while posting a 9.89 goals-against average and a .571 save percentage. He set a new single-season program record with 240 saves and recorded double-digit saves in 14 contests, earning All-Landmark Conference First Team honors.

Kirchner ranked third in the Landmark Conference in goals-against average, fourth in save percentage, and fifth in saves per game, anchoring a Scranton defense that allowed a conference-low 51 goals and posted a perfect 9–0 record against Landmark opponents.

His efforts helped lead the Royals to their third consecutive Landmark Conference Championship and a dominant 20–8 victory over Immaculata University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Kirchner and the men's lacrosse team open the 2026 season on Feb. 14, hosting nationally ranked Salisbury at Weiss Field. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Scranton.
