SCRANTON, Pa. -- Sophomore Donell Young of the University of Scranton wrestling team has been named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week following a championship performance at the Lycoming All State Invitational on Sunday.

Young led the Royals with a first-place finish at 165 pounds, putting together a dominant run through the bracket. He recorded one pin, one major decision, and two decision victories on his way to capturing the individual title.

The championship marked a highlight performance for Young, who showcased consistency and control throughout the tournament while helping Scranton secure a third-place team finish with 98.5 points.

Young's title performance paced a strong overall effort for the Royals, who totaled multiple podium finishes across several weight classes at the invitational.

The Royals will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 5, when they travel to Wilkes University for a dual match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
