SCRANTON, PA -- The No. 25 University of Scranton women's lacrosse team fell at home to No. 7 York College, 12-9 at Weiss Field on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
- York got off to an incredible start, scoring four goals in the first 3:08 of the game to take an early 4-0 lead.
- Scranton's Jillian Lopez got the Royals on the board at the 8:39 mark with her first goal of the game, which marked her 100th career point.
- York scored two more goals before Eileen Hewitt scored a free-position goal with 46 seconds left in the first period to make it a 6-2 lead for York heading into the second quarter.
- The Spartans scored their seventh goal just 33 seconds into the second period to extend their advantage to 7-2.
- Jessica McCabe found the back of the net at the 9:41 mark to bring Scranton back within four goals with her first goal of the season, and then just 1:05 later, she took a pass from Lopez and scored again to cut the deficit to 7-4 with 8:36 left in the first half.
- Goalkeeper Eva Guerino made five saves in the final three minutes of the half to keep York's lead at three goals heading into the break.
- York scored the first three goals of the third quarter to extend its lead to 10-4.
- With 5:17 left in the third, Colleen Mullin connected with Natalie Paul, who scored to make the score 10-5. For Mullin, it was her first point since April 17, 2024.
- The two teams traded goals twice during the middle of the fourth quarter. After York pushed its lead to 11-5, Allyson Flynn scored off a pass from Grace DiDominica just 27 seconds later. York responded with a goal at the 7:55 mark, but Scranton answered right back as Hewitt found the back of the net again to cut the deficit to 12-7.
- Lopez and Hewitt both scored one more time in the final two minutes of the game, but the comeback fell short as Scranton fell 12-9.
