Paige Martin earned Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors after helping guide the Royals to a ranked victory over No. 25 Ithaca College this weekend, improving Scranton's record to 3-3 on the season.
Martin was selected as the Landmark Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine ground balls, three caused turnovers, and one draw control across the team's two games. In the win against No. 25 Ithaca, she collected five ground balls and caused one turnover. She followed that performance with four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and one draw control in a close loss to No. 7 Gettysburg. The honor marks the first Defensive Player of the Week recognition of Martin's career.
Lopez led Scranton's offense, totaling 13 goals and three assists over the two games. She scored a career-high eight goals with two assists in the Royals' 15-14 overtime victory over Ithaca and added five goals and one assist against No. 7 Gettysburg. This marks the second straight week and third time in her career that Lopez has been named the Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week.
The Royals return to action Wednesday when they travel to Rowan University, with the opening draw scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Glassboro, N.J.
