Logan Campbell Named Landmark Conference Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year

University of Scranton senior men's soccer standout Logan Campbell has been selected as the 2025-26 Landmark Conference Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced.

The Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, established during the 2020-21 academic year, is presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete selected from the conference's sport-specific Senior Scholar-Athlete honorees. Campbell will now advance for consideration in the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year selection process.

"Logan is one of the most dynamic soccer players I have had the opportunity to watch in person, and what has always stood out to me is the way he combines his talent with leadership and class on the field," said Landmark Commissioner Katie Boldvich. "Throughout this selection process, learning more about his academic achievements, campus involvement, and commitment to serving others only deepened my respect for him. He embodies everything this award is intended to recognize, and I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of the Landmark Conference Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor."

Campbell graduated summa cum laude from Scranton with a 3.99 grade-point average, earning a degree in Business Analytics with a minor in Finance. During his career, he earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors and was named the 2025 United Soccer Coaches National Scholar Player of the Year.

A standout defender for the Royals, Campbell was a three-time All-Landmark selection and the 2025 Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He became just the second First Team All-American in program history after anchoring a Scranton defense that allowed just four goals throughout the entire season, including none during Landmark Conference play. The Royals finished the year among the nation's leaders in goals-against average and shutout percentage.

Campbell helped guide Scranton to the 2022 Landmark Conference Championship and, after being voted team captain as a sophomore, served on the Royals' leadership council, helping strengthen communication and build the team's culture among players, coaches, and athletic staff.

"First, I want to thank the Landmark Conference for bestowing this award upon me, as this is a great honor to receive," said Campbell. "It's not just a personal achievement, but a true reflection of the people who helped me get here: my teammates, coaches, peers, and professors who, over my four years, constantly challenged what I was capable of. I'm incredibly grateful to be recognized with this honor, and, as always, go Royals."

Beyond the soccer field, Campbell was heavily involved on campus and in the community. He was an active member of Scranton's Operations and Analytics Club and PRISM Club, where he applied business analytics and financial analysis through hands-on learning experiences.

He also served as Head of Activities for Riverfront Sports' Challenger Soccer program, helping facilitate soccer sessions for more than 20 individuals with disabilities. Additionally, Campbell volunteered at The Arrupe House, where he helped prepare more than 150 meals for community members in partnership with Friends of the Poor.

"Logan has had an unmistakable impact on the men's soccer program here at the University of Scranton," said Scranton head men's soccer coach Andy Loughnane. "Whether speaking about his preparation to be excellent out on the field or his consistently high standards in the classroom, he embodies what we look for in a Scranton Men's Soccer player.

"Personally, I've learned quite a bit from him. He's always impressed me with his decision-making, willingness to learn, and ability to lead during his time as a Royal. And when I take a step back and think of what the University of Scranton aims to achieve with its students, he's a shining example of what a distinctly Jesuit education and transformational experience can result in!"

Campbell becomes the second male student-athlete from Scranton to earn Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors, joining Connor Harding (2021). He is also just the second men's soccer student-athlete to receive the award, joining Wilkes University's Nick Kinzler (2024).
