Molly White Honored As Landmark Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year

University of Scranton senior track and field standout Molly White has been selected as the 2025-26 Landmark Conference Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced.

The Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, established during the 2020-21 academic year, is presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete selected from the conference's sport-specific Senior Scholar-Athlete honorees. White will now advance for consideration in the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year selection process.

"I've had the opportunity to get to know Molly over the years at our track and field championships, and she is every bit as impressive as a person as she is as an athlete," said Landmark Commissioner Katie Boldvich. "She is incredibly talented, but what always stood out to me was her humility and the way she genuinely cared about the people around her. Whether she was encouraging a teammate, helping another student-athlete get to the awards podium on time, or simply taking a moment to chat, Molly consistently represented the very best of collegiate athletics.

"Learning even more about her accomplishments in the classroom and her commitment to serving others only reinforced what I already knew: she is an exceptional person, and I am incredibly thankful to have gotten to know her a little throughout her career. She is so deserving of this recognition. Congrats, Molly!"

White excelled both academically and athletically throughout her career at Scranton. The Communication major with a minor in Sports Communication graduated with a 3.91 grade-point average and was recognized as a Dean's Scholar while earning membership in both Alpha Sigma Nu and Rho Tau Eta honor societies.

A dedicated member of the Scranton community, White completed an internship with the University's Athletics Department while also serving as a Resident Assistant, President of the Rho Tau Eta Communications Honor Society, Notetaker through the Office of Student Support and Success, and Service Chair of the KANIA Women in Business Club.

She also contributed to Royal Athletics as a broadcaster and track and field social media co-manager, volunteered with the University's Center for Service and Social Justice food pantry, served as an Orientation Assistant, and represented the student body as Chair of Athletics & Programming in Student Government.

"It was an honor just to be selected as a finalist among such amazing student-athletes, but to be named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year is truly special for me, my family, and my team," said White. "I hope to inspire a future generation of Royals to work hard on the track, in the classroom, and within the community. I'm grateful to the committee that selected me, but also to everyone who played a role in my successes in the last four years."

On the track, White established herself as one of the most accomplished multi-event athletes in Landmark Conference history.

During the 2025-26 season, White earned First Team All-America honors in the pentathlon during the indoor season and Second Team All-America honors in the heptathlon outdoors. She was also named the 2026 Landmark Conference Indoor Field Performer of the Year.

White collected 10 All-Landmark selections across the indoor and outdoor seasons, set Landmark Conference records in both the pentathlon (3,558 points) and heptathlon (4,850 points), and helped lead the Royals to Landmark Conference Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

"Molly has been a tremendous leader for us. Her performances, results, and awards are a testament to her work ethic and commitment on a daily basis," said Scranton head track and field coach Jon Cutright. "She led by example and did the work at the right intensities all the time. She never wanted to appear 'soft,' and sometimes we had to pull back the reins to make sure she didn't overtrain.

"Molly also found the right balance in her academics and community service and had massive success there as well. She was a great teammate and will be missed for sure, but I hope the legacy she carved out during her time at Scranton continues to be a model for our current and future athletes to strive towards."

White becomes the first female student-athlete from Scranton to earn Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors and is the second women's track and field student-athlete to receive the award, joining Crystal Robinson of Moravian University (2023).
