University of Scranton Women's Volleyball freshman middle hitter Andie Fortmeyer has been named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office.

This marks Fortmeyer's first career Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week selection. 

Fortmeyer posted a career-high 15 kills on a .577 hitting percentage as the Royals defeated Brandeis. The Lindenhurst, N.Y. native totaled 31 kills, seven service aces, and five blocks over three games this past weekend. 

Fortmeyer was named to the MIT Invitational All-Tournament team for her performance. The Royals finished 2-1 on the weekend, defeating Brandeis and Maine Maritime. 

The Royals will return to action Friday, September 18, as they take on Hartwick in the first game of the Electric City Invitational. Game time is set for 7:00 PM in the John Long Center.
