GETTYSBURG, Pa.—The University of Scranton wrestling team
competed in the NCAA East tournament Saturday at Gettysburg
College.
With some bouts still to be decided, the Royals are currently in
14th place in the 17-team field with 10.5 points.
Sophomore
Shawn Flesche (Northvale, NJ/Northern Valley
Regional) and junior
Chris Silakoski (Trenton, NJ/Notre Dame)
posted wins for Scranton today.
Flesche earned his 17th win of the season and the 34th of his
career by pinning Joe Fiore of Gettysburg at 2:40 of the first
period in a consolation-round match at 165. Silakosi won his
opening round match at 197, pinning Ricky Tisinger of McDaniel
College at the 6:59 mark of the third period, to pick up his 14th
win of the year and the 41st of his career.
