SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's volleyball team broke a 23-year-old program record on Saturday by picking up the team's 32nd win of the season, defeating Gettysburg, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in a tri-match at Swarthmore College.
The Royals (32-3) broke the previous program record for victories in a season, which was set in 1994 when they went 31-13. That season was also the only other season in which Scranton reached the 30-win plateau in the program's 42-year history.
Scranton dropped a hard-fought match later in the day, falling to the host Swarthmore, 3-1, for only the team's third loss of the season.
