READING, PA -- The University of Scranton men's basketball team posted a 71-59 victory over Albright in the consolation game of the Albright Holiday Tournament on Monday afternoon.

How it Happened
- Both squads exchanged buckets throughout the early stages of the first half as the game was tied up at 15-15 with just under 10 minutes remaining until halftime.
- A pair of free throws from senior Mason Thompson gave the Royals a 26-18 lead at the 5:07 mark in the first half, but the Lions responded, out scoring Scranton 13-3 to close out the opening half and hold 31-29 advantage at the break.
- Following a pair of free throws from junior Jon Spatola to open up the second half, graduate student Tahaj Parland drilled a three to put the Royals up 34-31.
- Scranton took its largest lead of the game at the 6:53 mark as senior Will McLoughlin converted a layup to complete an 8-0 run and give the Royals a 58-49 advantage.
- Albright answered again and got within one point of Scranton at the 3:22 mark (60-59), but the Royals closed out the game strong with an 11-0 run, sparked by a three-pointer from senior Cameron Khoza.

- Spatola led the way for Scranton with a season-high 16 points, including six points in the final two minutes of action.Â
- McLoughlin posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.Â
- Freshman Sammy Tornabene contributed a season-high nine points and seven rebounds off the bench.
