SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton men's basketball team defeated King's College 67-61 on Saturday afternoon at the John Long Center.

How it Happened
- In the opening play of the game, senior Will McLoughlin found classmate Cameron Khoza in the right corner who drained a three-pointer through contact and converted the extra point, giving the Royals an early two-possession lead.
- McLoughlin connected from three-point range on back-to-back plays as the Royals raced to an early 12-0 lead.
- The Monarchs scored eight straight points until graduate student Tahaj Parland scored on consecutive possessions to give Scranton a 16-8 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the half.
- King's took its first lead of the game at 4:24, but Khoza answered with corner three-pointer and senior Mason Thompson delivered a jumper at the top of the key to tie things up at 24 a piece with 3:38 left.
- Both teams traded baskets for the remainder of the half, but the Monarchs went to the locker room with a 33-29 lead.Â
- McLoughlin opened the scoring in the second half with a turnaround jumper and junior Jon Spatola added a three to bring the Royals within one point.
- Parland drained a three-pointer from the left wing to tie the game at 42-42 with 15 minutes remaining.
- Freshman Will Marion connected from three-point range on the right wing to give the Royals their first lead of the half, 45-44, with 13 minutes left.
