ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- The University of Scranton wrestling team finished in 10th place out of 12 teams at the Blue Jay Classic hosted by Elizabethtown College on Saturday.

The Royals finished the tournament with 26.5 points. Wilkes University won the team title with 194 points.

Top Performers

• Graduate student Jacob Burgette was the top finisher for Scranton as he placed third in the 174 pound bracket. Burgette began his day with a bye in the first round and followed up with a pin in 2:21 against Connor Powell of Johns Hopkins in the second round. In the third round, Burgette posted a 15-0 tech. fall victory over Omari Watson of Wilkes. After falling in the quarterfinals to Melquan Warren of Wilkes, Burgette responded with a win in the third place match as he pinned Lucas Miller of Wilkes in 2:16.
