GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's cross country team turned in another strong performance on Saturday, finishing ninth overall out of 33 teams in the 6K at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College.
Emily Hopkins led the Royals with a strong run, placing 11th overall in 22:15.6 over the 6,000-meter course. Callie Gorman followed in 35th (23:12.8), while Kaitlyn Stibritz crossed next in 65th (23:55.6). Helen Socorso placed 94th (24:45.2), and Alison Clark rounded out the scoring in 100th (24:51.6).
Also competing for Scranton were Maria Viola (102nd, 24:53.8) and Ayla Andrews (133rd, 25:28.9), as the Royals earned their third top-10 team finish of the season.
The Royals return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Landmark Conference Championships in Clark, N.J.
