Sophomore Lydia Bechtel of The University of Scranton field hockey team has been named the Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week after leading the Royals to a pair of Landmark Conference victories last week.

Bechtel totaled a goal and an assist over the two-game stretch, helping Scranton to a pair of victories. She scored in Wednesday's 2-0 win at Wilkes and added an assist in Saturday's 3-1 triumph over Catholic as the Royals continued their strong conference play.

The sophomore midfielder recorded five total shots, including three on goal, while providing a consistent two-way presence for a Scranton squad that is gaining momentum entering the final week of the regular season.

Bechtel and the Royals return to action on Wednesday night at Drew University at 7:00 p.m.
