WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The University of Scranton wrestling team competed at the Wilkes Open on Friday, gaining additional match experience against a large field of competitors.

At 133 pounds, freshman Luke Griffin earned a pin in 4:38 during the round of 32 before being eliminated in the round of 16.

Sophomore Charles Kitching also recorded a pin at 174 pounds, securing a fall in 2:10 during the consolation round of 16.

Scranton returns to action on Saturday, January 10, when the Royals host Bergen Community College at 2:00 p.m.
