CLARK, NJ -- Senior Emily Hopkins raced to an impressive individual victory to lead The University of Scranton women's cross country team to a first-place finish on Friday at the Oak Ridge Invitational hosted by Drew University.
Hopkins set the pace from the start and was the only athlete to break the 20-minute mark, clocking in at 19:58.39 to claim the individual crown. The Royals put together a dominant team performance, placing six runners in the top 10 and ten in the top 20 to secure a commanding win.
Scranton's scoring five combined for a total time of 1:48:46.91, averaging 21:45.38 per runner over the 5K course.
