Sophomore goalkeeper Ruby Sorber was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week following another outstanding week in net for the Royals.

Sorber logged 140 minutes across two games, making 12 saves in wins over No. 14 Stevens and Goucher.

The Hunlock Creek, Pa., native opened the week with a strong performance against ranked Stevens. Sorber tallied 10 saves, including three in the fourth quarter, two in the first overtime period and four more in the second overtime frame. In the penalty shootout, Sorber made three consecutive stops to keep Stevens off the board and help lead the Royals to the ranked victory.

Sorber followed that performance with two saves in a win over Goucher College.

Through the first 11 games of the season, the sophomore goalkeeper has posted a 1.00 goals-against average, 45 saves, an .804 save percentage and four shutouts in her first season as the Royals' starting keeper.

Sorber and the Royals return to action Tuesday evening on the road against Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa.
