SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's track and field team turned in a strong showing at the SU Invite on Saturday, Feb. 14, highlighted by multiple event victories and two program records.
Scranton opened the meet with a win in the 4x200-meter relay, as Sam Sharrow, Tasia Miniotis, Olivia Miller, and Jocelyn Smith crossed the line in 1:46.26 to take first place.
Molly White delivered a record-breaking performance in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing third overall with a program record time of 9.26 seconds. White continued her standout day in the field events, winning the triple jump with another program record mark of 11.01 meters. She also added a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.61 meters.
In the 60-meter dash, Jocelyn Smith placed second with a time of 7.96 seconds, while Kaia Grantham finished fifth in 8.14 seconds.
Kyrianna Nemitz claimed the mile title with a winning time of 5:09.59, and Callie Gorman added points for the Royals with a sixth-place finish in 5:22.68.
Olivia Miller earned an individual victory in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 59.22 seconds, while Tasia Miniotis finished second in 1:00.69 to give Scranton a strong one-two finish in the event.
The Royals capped the meet with a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, as Ella Wiskidensky, Jocelyn Smith, Isabella Delgado, and Anna Kofod combined for a time of 4:21.56.
In the field, Sam Sharrow also secured a third-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.15 meters, rounding out an impressive all-around team performance for Scranton.
