STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The University of Scranton women's track and field team turned in a strong performance at the Big Apple Invitational, hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Saturday, highlighted by several podium finishes and top-five results across sprints, distance events, relays, and field competitions.

On the track, Olivia Miller led the women's 400-meter field with a third-place finish, posting a time of 58.92 seconds. Tasia Miniotis followed with an 11th-place finish at 1:00.47.
In the women's 200 meters, Sam Sharrow delivered a standout performance, finishing second out of 69 runners with a time of 25.24, while Jocelyn Smith tied for third place with a time of 25.82. Both Sharrow and Smith also competed in the women's 60-meter dash, with Sharrow finishing fourth time of 7.79 and Smith finishing seventh in the event at 7.96.
In the women's 60-meter hurdles, Molly White earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 9.41.
Strong performances continued in the distance events, led by Kyrianna Nemitz, who finished fourth out of 33 runners in the women's mile with a time of 5:00.20. Nemitz also competed in the women's 3,000-meter run, earning another fourth-place finish with a time of 10:12.84.
In the women's 800 meters, Emma DiLemme placed ninth out of 37 competitors with a time of 2:27.03, while LeighAnn Livio and Helen Socorso finished 14th and 15th, respectively.
The women's 4x400-meter relay squads delivered strong results as well. The team of Ella Wiskidensky, Socorso, DiLemme, and Claudia Huber finished second with a time of 4:11.96, while the relay of Isabella Delgado, Katie Hunt, Anna Kofod, and Livio placed third at 4:16.31.
In the field events, White added a fifth-place finish in the women's triple jump with a mark of 10.95 meters. In the women's shot put, Afua Apau placed fifth with a throw of 11.13 meters, while Sarah Kerr finished ninth at 9.73 meters. In the women's weight throw, Peyton Fox finished fifth out of 17 competitors with a mark of 13.29 meters, and Apau placed seventh with a throw of 12.69 meters.
The Royals will look to build on their strong performances as the indoor season continues next week with the SU Valentine Invite at Susquehanna University on Saturday, Feb. 14.
