Freshman Peyton Fox of The University of Scranton women's track and field team has been named the Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week following a historic performance at the Paul Kaiser Classic this past weekend.
Fox delivered a record-breaking showing in the throwing events, setting two program records while also breaking the Landmark Conference record in the hammer throw. She placed second in the event with a mark of 50.69 meters, surpassing both the previous school and conference standards. Fox also set a new program record in the discus with a throw of 38.94 meters to place fourth overall.
Her standout performance helped lead a strong overall showing for the Royals, who recorded multiple event victories, podium finishes, and school-record marks throughout the meet.
Fox and the Royals will now turn their attention to the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships, set for May 2-3 at Juniata College.
