About Scranton

  • Top-seeded Scranton enters the Landmark Conference Championship with a 14-4 overall record and a perfect 9-0 mark in conference play.
  • The Royals are seeking their fourth consecutive Landmark Conference title. With a victory, Scranton would become just the second team in conference history to win four straight women's lacrosse championships, joining Catholic, which has accomplished the feat twice.
  • Scranton is led by head coach Chrissy Trescavage and assistant coach Erin Reich, who were named the 2026 Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • Offensively, the Royals are paced by Jillian Lopez, who is tied for 10th in the nation with a career-high 72 goals this season. The junior has totaled 72 goals and 12 assists for 84 points, while adding 18 caused turnovers and 50 draw controls. She is just four goals shy of setting a new single-season program record.
  • Defensively, Landmark Defensive Player of the Year Eileen Hewitt anchors the top defense in the conference, which allows just 8.38 goals per game and only 5.40 goals per game against conference opponents. Hewitt has a team-high 38 caused turnovers and 54 ground balls, while also contributing 49 goals and 33 assists for 82 points. The junior ranks among the top five in the conference in every statistical category this season.
  • Scranton advanced to the championship game with a 13-4 semifinal victory over Susquehanna University.

About Catholic

  • Catholic is led by six-time Landmark Conference Coach of the Year Meghan McDonogh, who has totaled 255 wins in her 20 seasons at the helm.
  • Offensively, the Cardinals are paced by All-Conference First Team selection Henley Bredemann, who has posted career highs with 57 points on 41 goals and 16 assists, while adding 26 draw controls. Izzy Fiore leads the team with 58 points, scoring 35 goals and dishing out a team-best 23 assists this season.

Series History

  • Catholic leads the all-time series, 25-6, but Scranton has won each of the last six matchups, including Landmark Conference Championship victories in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
  • Scranton earned a 13-4 victory over Catholic during the regular season meeting earlier this year, holding the Cardinals to their lowest goal total since March 15, 2024, when Washington and Lee limited Catholic to three goals.
  • Saturday marks the 14th ever playoff meeting and the tenth straight Landmark Conference Championship meeting between the two programs. Catholic won the first six championship matchups from 2014 through 2022, while Scranton has claimed the last three.
