Women's Track & Field Captures First-Ever Outdoor Landmark Championship

The University of Scranton women's track and field team made program history on Saturday and Sunday, capturing its first-ever outdoor conference title at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.

With the victory, the Royals completed the sweep of the 2026 Landmark Conference indoor and outdoor championships.

Scranton totaled 196 team points over the two-day meet, finishing 26.5 points ahead of second-place Moravian University.

Scranton put together a complete team performance across the championship meet, highlighted by multiple event titles, facility records, program records, and personal-best performances.


Saturday Highlights

  • The Royals opened the weekend with a strong showing in the distance and field events.
  • In the 1500-meter run, Emily Hopkins earned a runner-up finish with a season-best time of 4:43.21, while Kyrianna Nemitz placed third in 4:46.01.
  • Callie Gorman added points in the 10,000-meter run, finishing fourth overall with a personal-best mark of 39:08.17.
  • In the field events, Hayla Bryant recorded a personal best in the pole vault, clearing 2.65 meters to place fourth.
  • Sam Sharrow captured the Landmark title in the long jump with a leap of 5.27 meters, while Molly White placed third at 5.14 meters.
  • Peyton Fox delivered one of the top performances of the meet in the hammer throw, winning the event with a facility-record toss of 47.90 meters.
  • Afua Apau followed with a second-place finish in the shot put, setting both a personal best and a new program record with a mark of 12.84 meters.

Sunday Highlights

  • Shannon Pulis opened the day with a seventh-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing in a personal-best time of 12:42.27.
  • The Royals' 4x100-meter relay team of Tasia Miniotis, Samantha Solar, Kaia Grantham, and Jocelyn Smith earned a third-place finish in 49.31.
  • Molly White added another podium finish in the 100-meter hurdles, taking second in 15.09.
  • In the field events, White captured the Landmark title in the triple jump with a mark of 11.37 meters before adding another conference championship in the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 1.63 meters. Elena Funk placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.58 meters, while Gretchen Haray finished fourth at 1.48 meters.
  • Peyton Fox added a second-place finish in the discus throw with a personal-best and program-record mark of 40.45 meters.
  • In the 400-meter dash, Ella Wiskidensky posted a personal-best time of 59.96 to finish fourth overall. Isabella Delgado placed seventh in 1:01.05, while Tasia Miniotis finished eighth in 1:01.19.
  • Jocelyn Smith sprinted to a conference title in the 100-meter dash, breaking the facility record and posting a season-best time of 12.21. Kaia Grantham added a sixth-place finish with a season-best mark of 12.61.
  • Olivia Miller claimed the Landmark championship in the 800-meter run with a personal-best and program-record time of 2:15.35. Helen Socorso added a fourth-place finish in the event with a season-best time of 2:23.34.
  • White delivered another historic performance in the 400-meter hurdles, winning the event in program-record and facility-record fashion with a time of 1:02.40, which currently ranks among the top-20 performances in all of Division III this season.
  • Rachael Johns also scored for the Royals with a sixth-place finish and personal-best time of 1:07.97.
  • In the 200-meter dash, Smith placed fifth in 25.50, while Grantham finished seventh in 26.10.
  • The Royals closed out the individual events with a dominant performance in the 5000-meter run as Kyrianna Nemitz won the conference title in 17:26.53 and Emily Hopkins finished second with a season-best time of 17:33.82.
  • Scranton capped off the historic weekend with another podium finish in the 4x400-meter relay as the quartet of Ella Wiskidensky, Tasia Miniotis, Isabella Delgado, and Olivia Miller placed third in 3:58.91.

Program Records Broken

  • Afua Apau broke the program record in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 12.84 meters while finishing second overall.
  • Peyton Fox set a new program record in the discus throw with a personal-best mark of 40.45 meters while finishing second overall.
  • Olivia Miller set a new program record in the 800-meter run with a winning time of 2:15.35.
  • Molly White broke the program record in the 400-meter hurdles with a winning and facility-record time of 1:02.40, which ranks among the top-20 performances in Division III this season.
